Controller Options and Additional Features

Steaming or Reconditioning Chamber Control System

In many Lumber operations steaming chambers are required to treat species like Walnut, Beech or others. Lignomat’s Steaming Chamber Control System allows the Steam Chamber to be connected to an existing Lignomat Kiln Control System and can be operated from the same Host PC. Overall functions like remote control, steam prioritization or histories can be used.

A Temperature Sensor is installed inside the Steaming Chamber and controls, while live steam is injected, a Temperature Set-point entered by the operator. Once the desired Temperature is reached, the steam valve will be closed. Instead of controlling live steam coming into the Steaming Chamber, the system can also control the heat supply to a water bath where steam is generated.

Conditioning Chamber Control System

Special purpose controler intended to only regulate EMC in a kiln or Conditioning Chamber.  Consists of  one temperature and one EMC sensor connected to the kiln control module. Special version of MP16 master controller is required for this system.


Steam Optimization Option

This option is intended to prioritize steam supply to individual kilns in situations when steam demand exceeds steam supply. Operator can prioritize steam supply to individual kilns based on drying requirements.

One Steam Pressure Transducer is required to be installed on steam line and connected to one of the kiln controllers.  Currently only available for KCM and PCM type control module.


Wireless In-kiln Scale Option

Add a wireless in-kiln scale for your sample boards as a substitute for Wood Moisture Content probes (MC).

Scale is completely wireless and can be placed anywhere in the kiln. Once initiated for the kiln charge it will provide sample board moisture content and feed the value into control system.
