What the Lignomat Moisture Meter will do for you:

The Lignomat Inline Moisture Meter applies a new improved technology to the problem of accurately tracking and analyzing each piece of lumber processed at your facility. Our meter operates using dual frequencies thus allowing for accurate moisture readings regardless of density changes within a species. Lignomat’s Inline Moisture Meter has been shown by independent testing to be one of the most accurate systems available. Lignomat guarantees when the system is operated per our operating instructions a repetition accuracy of +/_ 0.5% wood moisture or better. (Note: All accuracy is expressed as compared to oven dry samples.)

Hardware:

Lignomat has designed the system to allow the use of 18 inch, 21 inch and 28 inch moisture measuring heads. Each of the moisture measuring heads can accurately measure moisture content from 6% to 27% (Max. fiber saturation). Calibration of each species must be done once, after that they can be recalled when required. The width of each board is measured to accurately calculate the moisture content. You have the choice of rejecting boards that are “too wet”, “too dry”, “OK” or any combination. Output signals are 120 or 240 VAC and can trigger a PLC, spray system, dropout gate, etc. The system is equipped with online diagnostics to allow for rapid troubleshooting and repair.  The Lignomat Inline Moisture Meter can be operated on a lug system (see below) or a lugless system, accuracy will depend on how straight the board cross the moisture sensing heads.

Software:

The easy to use operator interface gives a visual display of the moisture content of each board as it passes over the moisture measuring heads as well as a quick view of the previous seven boards. The moisture value that is displayed on the screen will be colored based on your wet/dry limits. “Wet” boards will display blue, “OK” boards will display green and “Dry” boards will display red. Lignomat has also implemented a spot/streak feature. Spot allows you to reject a board if one measuring head reads at or above a set value. Streak allows you to reject a board if consecutive measuring heads read at or above a set value. The interface is also used for entering species information, temperature and more. Lignomat also offers a Host PC that is connected to the moisture meter via Ethernet. This PC will allow you to generate useful reports about moisture content , setup charges to be loaded into the moisture meter at the operator interface, and to setup species calibrations from an office. With the Host PC it is also possible for Lignomat to dial into your computer and troubleshoot or upgrade software.
